Speaking on Morning Report this morning, Prime Minister-elect Jacinda Ardern signalled that Labour would scrap its proposed water tax on farmers as part of its agreement with New Zealand First. She said that the New Zealand First leader Winston Peters felt very strong on the irrigation tax and that the new agreement would respect his views. She reminded listeners that the tax was about cleaning up New Zealand’s rivers and lakes, which she remains committed to.
