Smithfield Foods, a food company and pork processor, has launched a Spanish language website that features partnerships with Latino chefs such as an Ecuadorian-American chef Jose Garces. The website features the tagline “El Delicioso Sabor de Smithfield” or “Taste Delicious Smithfield.” The website was created as an educational tool for Hispanic consumers, giving them an array of recipes and information on various pork cuts, cooking methods, when to buy pork and defrosting instructions. Recipes include Smithfield pork products complemented by Hispanic favourites like chimichurri, Oaxaca cheese and poblanos. The website is likely to appeal to any shopper interested in ethnic cooking also.
