Increased demand for the fruit in recent years has hit supply. The study reported that by understanding the avocado’s origins, scientists and farmers can adapt growing practices to guarantee more success. On top of this, the genetic information can be used to create new varieties of avocados with different tastes and textures which can help ensure the avocado’s future.
