French Oyster Farmer Tony Berthelot created an automatic dispenser of live oysters on the Ile de Re island offering a range of oyster quantities, types and sizes 24 hours a day, seven days a week. Mr Berthelot’s refrigerated dispenser was one of the first and resembles a typical vending machine. Customers use their bank card for access, opening the door of their choice from a range of carton sizes and oyster types. Mr Berthelot said the machine helps recover any sale losses when his core business is closed.
