[13 August/Food Navigator] Beyoncé has recently released a new diet plan on her YouTube channel, called 22 Days Vegan Nutrition Plan which has been criticized by nutrition professionals as a potentially dangerous diet which could lead to nutritional deficiencies. The plan was created by her personal trainer, Marco Borges. The plant-based diet cuts out carbohydrates, sugar, meat, fish and alcohol and has under 1,400 calories a day, well under the recommended 2,000 calories a day for women. The restrictive nature of the diet has been reported as unhealthy and it has been suggested that social media sites should ban the promotion of dangerous and seriously restrictive diets.
