Farmax, an agricultural software company, is now wholly owned by AgResearch. Farmax had been operating for 15 years and had added value to more than 5,000 farm businesses in New Zealand and overseas. The software is used by farmers to analyse, monitor and review farm operations to determine the production and economic outcomes of various managerial options. AgResearch Chief Executive, Tom Richardson, said the move was aligned to its ongoing development of digital tools that supported decision making by farmers and their advisors. Farmax General Manager, Gavin McEwen, added the new ownership structure would not lead to any immediate changes for the business. Mr Richardson noted the relationship with the outgoing owners had provided many opportunities. David Brownrigg said it was a rewarding relationship over the past 15 years and he was proud to be a part of Farmax’s growth.
