A deal just signed between Labour, the Greens and New Zealand First confirm climate change policy will play a role in our government moving forward. The parties have agreed to introduce a new Zero Carbon Act and launch a new independent Climate Commission. There remained a question mark over whether agriculture would be brought into our Emissions Trading Scheme (ETS). Federated Farmers president Katie Milne said farmers were concerned about being absorbed into the ETS.
