The Ministry for Primary Industries, DairyNZ and Beef + Lamb New Zealand released a 2019 Mycoplasma bovis National Plan to farmers which is designed to support farmers. The plan sets out three goals, eradication, and reduction of impact of the disease and to strengthen New Zealand’s biosecurity system. On Friday, MPI hare reported to have said it will report the total number of Confirmed Properties, Active Properties, and Cleared Properties of m,bovis, as it believes this is the most accurate and transparent way to report on the scale of the programme, and progress towards eradication. Sam McIvor, Beef + Lamb Chief Executive stated they will continue to sit at the table with government and DairyNZ to ensure this eradication programme has the greatest chance of success, and that farmers are represented every step of the way.
