[8 August/ Stuff]

Primary Industries Minister Nathan Guy has until August 23 before Parliament dissolves to trigger the legislation needed for the salmon farm relocation plan in the Marlborough Sounds. The Ministry for Primary Industries proposed to relocate six low-flow farms to higher flow areas in the Sounds, creating better environmental outcomes. King Salmon Chief Executive Grant Rosewarne said King Salmon has resigned to a decision being made after the election and added he was disappointed by the delay, as it meant the company would spend another summer farming in low-flow sites in the Marlborough Sounds.
