Sales of Fair Trade products have increased 17% in Australia and New Zealand in the past year as more consumers put their money where their mouth is when it comes to sustainable and ethical products.  Recent market research suggested that 71% of Kiwi’s say that they were willing to pay more to get the best organic, sustainable and ethically produced products while 83% would stop buying if they heard about a company being irresponsible or unethical.  CEO of Fairtrade Australia and New Zealand, Molly Harriss Olson, said the trend reflected rising concerns about origins of the food and better access to information.
